Rick Gleason, Personal Lines Agent
I come from a background in communications from UWSP and began my professional career at Newschannel 7. From there I moved on to begin a career in insurance about 10 years ago and came aboard CWIA in 2017. I love working with and meeting new people. I am licensed to write all types of insurance ranging from Commercial, Personal, Life and Health. Away from the office I enjoy spending time with my family up north, going to my kids’ soccer/baseball games, playing tennis and golf, watching and rooting hard for my state teams (On Wisconsin!, GPG!, Go Crew!) and listening to all different forms of music.
In August 2017, I decided to retire from full-time employment but found days were very long without interacting with people. I started part-time employment at CWIA in September 2017 and have been very happy with my job and the staff. I have been a Merrill resident for the last 7 years and truly enjoy the small town atmosphere. I enjoy gardening, reading and traveling.
After growing up on, and operating a dairy farm in Marathon County, I started my insurance career in 1987 with Rural Insurance. Since then, the majority of my insurance experience was spent as an agency principal with The Murphy Insurance Group, where I developed many skills and relationships. Today I am part of CWIA, and continue to work with businesses, business owners, as well as everyday insurance consumers, who value having a professional insurance agent to consult with and assist them with their insurance program. I live in the Town of Berlin, and my outside of work interests include working with community service organizations that include the Lions, Elks, and the Wausau Area Builders Association.
I have worked in the insurance industry for 5 years.
Most of my background is in the management and accounting areas. I like to think that I help start our day off on a positive, fun note. I have a wonderful husband , six children, 14 grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and our faithful dog Toby. My hobbies are reading as much and I can and hanging out with my grandchildren.
I have been in the insurance industry for over 25 years.
I started out in customer service, but soon moved into personal lines as an agent. I pride myself at listening to the customer’s needs and always looking out for them and their best interest. On a personal note, my husband and I have been married 50+ years and have raised seven awesome children. They in turn have given us 21 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They are the love of our life and our best times revolve around the huge family get together’s that make our life complete.
Betty Clabough, CISR/CPIA
I have a passion for life! I love animals as well as the elderly. I donate time to the Humane Society. My therapy dog Harriett and I frequently visit Homme Home for the Aging as well as St. Claires Hospital in Wausau. I enjoy donating time to charitable causes. My favorite fundraiser is the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation. Riding the Harley, passing out food to those hungry motorcyclists or whatever the need is in order to raise money for children is a wonderful way to give back. I love hiking, biking, swimming, boating, kayaking and spending precious moments with my friends and family.
